The Pricebook that Does More: Capturing Site Photos (How-To Video)
Written by: Kevin McCarron
As a dealer, your typical inspection of a new property covers many locations, areas, and components throughout the home. Taking pictures is likely in your process, but getting them from your phone or tablet and into the project record can be tedious. Browsing for site photos you’ve taken on your from your phone, tablet, or laptop is standard functionality, and if you’re using Dropbox, we’ve made it easy to pull photos from your cloud account into Pricebook.
How Pricebook Works (Video Guide)
Built into Pricebook is a handy site photo upload feature – either from Dropbox, or your device’s photo folder or hard drive – to assign specific site photos to a job within your Pricebook customer record. Here’s a quick video guide to show you how this works inside the app:
Documenting Before and After
The importance of capturing photos before, during, and after your job is complete protects you as the service provider. Throughout the installation process, your team is responsible for the work site, the safe installation of equipment, and the clean-up afterwards. Capturing photos and posting them in the customer record within Pricebook ensures a professional job is performed throughout the process (with the photos to prove it).
Virtual Site Inspection (Shared Photos or Zoom Meeting with Homeowners)
Since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, your ability to safely enter a customer’s home has likely changed. In some situations, seeing the work site or equipment within the home is just not an option.
This is where having a helpful homeowner comes in, as well as capable technology. With Pricebook, you have a couple of options here to keep you proactively working to build a working knowledge of their home comfort systems.
- Option 1: Ask the homeowner to capture photos of their current equipment and share/email them with you – communicating what’s happening remotely from inside their home.
- Option 2: Pricebook offers Zoom meeting integration directly from the app interface. You can fire up a session, see the equipment and conditions of the home remotely, and build your follow-up proposal in just a few minutes.
Protecting the Process
Documenting your job with site photos is best practice. Customers appreciate the thoroughness and attention to detail with this quick step, and other members of your team who follow after you (your installers, mainly) will have even more information and evidence of work site conditions.
So grab your camera phone and get those photos. Pricebook makes it easy to keep them organized and useful for your business.
We’ve covered just one of the many dealer-focused features of Pricebook. There’s more to selling with technology – book a demo with our team to see more of PricebookPlus.
